Sector · Brokers, CMC, Credit Hire
The old model still works. It is getting expensive. It is losing share. Here is the bridge.
This is sometimes called Answer Engine Optimisation, or AEO. We use AI Visibility throughout because it is the language most leadership teams already use.

The thesis, in one paragraph
For the past decade, paid intent capture via Google Ads has been the dominant lead-acquisition playbook for UK insurance brokers and claims management companies. The model works. Bid on a high-intent term, capture the click, convert the call. Specialist brokers compete for "taxi insurance broker UK" or "fleet insurance 5 vehicles". Credit hire and CMC operators bid on insurer brand terms to capture non-fault claims at the point of need. Different targets, same channel.
Two things are shifting underneath that playbook, and the maths is starting to bite.

Cost per click on the high-intent commercial-motor and claims terms is climbing year on year.

The bridge channel
AI Visibility is not a replacement for paid search. It is the bridge channel that runs alongside it. Two reasons it matters now, not in 2027.
It is a compounding asset. Once a service page is structured to be cited, every new query the AI engines field draws from the same page. Paid search resets every month. AI Visibility builds.
The window is open. Across recent UK broker audits, even established brands typically appear in fewer than half of the 16 buyer-defining queries we test. They win the local searches. They lose the category-defining ones. The brands that close that gap first own the answer slot for the next decade.
The 90-day move
You don't need a rebuild. You need four phases, in order.
- 1
Foundation Zero
Week 1Verify domain in Google Search Console. Allow GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, Applebot-Extended, and Bingbot (Microsoft 365 Copilot draws from Bing's index) in robots.txt. Stamp every service page with a visible 'Last updated' date. Free. Hours, not days.
- 2
Foundation
Weeks 2 to 4Add FAQPage, LocalBusiness and Organisation schema across the service pages and the office estate. Make the credibility signals (FCA authorisation, year founded, regional presence, ratings) machine-readable. The single biggest lever for most broker and claims sites.
- 3
Decision Content
Weeks 4 to 8Publish the answers to the buyer's category-defining questions. Not blog posts. Decision pages. 'Do I need taxi insurance for private hire?' 'What is the difference between credit hire and direct hire?' Each one a quotable, structured page that an AI can cite verbatim.
- 4
Compounding
Days 60 to 90Re-run the 16-query Share of Voice test. Track citation movement. Tune the pages that moved, double down on the formats that won. The work compounds. The cost does not.
Why this hits brokers and claims hardest
Three sector dynamics make AI Visibility a sharper lever for brokers, credit hire and CMC operators than for general professional services.
High CPC base. Commercial-motor, fleet, taxi and credit hire terms already sit at the top of the UK CPC index. Every percentage point of paid spend that AI Visibility absorbs is real money returning to the P&L.
Decision-led queries. Insurance and claims buyers ask comparative, structured questions. AI engines love structured questions with structured answers. The category is built for citation.
Trust signals are dormant. FCA authorisation, multi-year customer ratings, regional office estates. All visible to humans, all invisible to AI without schema. Add to that the third-party authority gap: trade press mentions, industry body listings, journalist coverage and review platforms. Brokers and CMCs under-invest here and AI engines weight it heavily. The unlock is operational, not strategic.
